The Rise of Global Elitism…

 How did America get from a nation once known as a melting pot, to a pot that appears to be boiling over?  I have only begun following US culture and politics since the late 1990’s. It was noticeable already at that time that the division between the political left and right was growing.  When Obama was elected in 2008, I remember being cautiously optimistic about him being able to make good on his campaign promises to bring the nation together. He was very convincing when he spoke. What we got instead was “I have a pen and a phone, and I’m going to fundamentally change America!” Apparently that was just the beginning.

The Glass Ceiling still Unbroken  

Obama was successful in laying the foundation of the fundamental changes he envisioned for American culture. Then in 2016, when we all thought Hillary Clinton would shatter the glass ceiling. As the Democrats prepared to celebrate the first woman to be president, it happened. The world was stunned by what appeared to be a massive political upset by Donald J. Trump. Prior to Trump’s first election, previous presidents, whether Republican or Democrat had always been part of “the establishment”. By establishment, I mean that small club of wealthy elites who understood the rules of the political game, the Bush family, the Clintons, even Reagan. As members of this elite club, there was an understanding that there were things you did, and things you didn’t do. One of the most critical things you didn’t do was upset the order and agenda of the global elites. That agenda being to continue to quietly move the world toward a global system of government. 

Upsetting the applecart…

When Trump got elected in 2016, it nearly upset the applecart!  He did not entirely succeed in upsetting it because he grossly underestimated the depth and control of the DC bureaucracy. By contrast, in the first three months of his 2nd term in 2024 he has been kicking over globalist apple carts with reckless abandon week after week. The establishment elites, who have been running things for the past 50 years are scrambling about, trying to keep their apples together. Trump was not part of the club. He apparently did not understand that making America great again runs counter to the globalist agenda.  Diminishing the role of America on the world stage was a critical step to pave the way for a New World Order. Either Trump didn’t understand that, or maybe he did. If he does understand that the dilemma becomes even more problematic for the globalists.

How to Stop Trump?

From 2016 to 2024 the global elites united their effort to resist and destroy Donald Trump in a barrage of negative publicity, impeachment attempts and litigation law fare. It was almost successful. The globalists did manage to get their approved candidate back in the Whitehouse in 2020. Whether that election was a true reflection of the will of the American people continues to be hotly debated.  Accusations of voter fraud still occasionally swirl about social media to this day. The newly elected President Biden once again promised to bring unity to the nation. 

Build Back Better

His administration’s actions however proceeded to double down on the globalist agenda of Obama. Biden’s campaign slogan was  “build back better”, though exactly what he built beyond an ever widening rift between left and right, is not entirely clear. He had promised he would have the most transparent administration, yet rarely communicated directly with the public, and when the media actually had opportunity to ask any questions, the answers were typically a garbled version of “nothing to see here – please move on”. 

The Biden Debacle…

Biden rarely made public speaking appearances, and when he did it was aways clearly scripted. The few times he would go off script generally gave the media a few more gaffs and threw his aids into panic mode.  All this while the media continued to promote the claim that Joe was mentally sharp as a tack. Then came the fateful event of his debate with Trump in the run up to the 2024 election. Even his staunchest supporters could no longer hide his advancing dementia at that point. And thus began the demise of Obama’s globalist dreams for America. According to Michael Goodwin writing in July of 2023 New York Post opinion article, Obama apparently spoke prophetically when he warned a fellow democrat about Joe Biden prior to the 2020 election. “Speaking to a fellow Democrat about Joe Biden being the party’s nominee in 2020, Obama famously warned, ‘Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f–k things up.'” 

 

Flipping the light on…

When we first started visiting Florida about ten years ago, I had my first introduction to what they call a Palmetto Bug here in the south. A palmetto bug is essentially an exceptionally large cockroach, and I encountered it when I opened an empty cupboard above the stove. This bug acted as though it was highly allergic to light, and the shock of it nearly caused me to soil myself. It flapped an flittered around in that cabinet trying desperately to find a place to hide…and quickly met its demise courtesy of a direct hit with some Raid.

In Bed with the Roaches

These first three months in Washington DC remind me of what happens when you flip the light on in a room full of cockroaches. The activity is frantic as they scurry about trying to find a dark place to hide. What Elon Musk and the DOGE have been doing is flipping on the light, exposing the waste and corruption that the American people have long suspected was there. Hopefully it will result in providing sufficient concrete evidence to prove it. What I found most stunning is the resistance that some politicians, bureaucrats and federal judges have mounted in attempting to keep it all covered. Most incredulously, those objecting the loudest are essentially betraying their own guilty connection in benefiting from the corruption.

Where to we go from here?

I believe it was a major league baseball coach who once explained that on any given ball team he would find that about 10% of the players thought the coach could do no wrong, and another 10% would never admit he did anything right, but that the remaining 80% just wanna play ball. He went on to say that his job as coach was to keep the 10% whom he knew would oppose everything he did, from having a negative affect on the rest of the team. That principle of leadership holds true for any organization of people, be it a business, a church, a ball team or a nation. The job of leadership is to keep the negative minority from affecting the rest of the team so that they can play ball.

Let’s Play Ball

America is no different right now. The majority of Americans just want to have the freedom and opportunity to live their lives in relative peace and safety.  Leadership’s objective should be to keep the vocal negative minority from disrupting the rest of us. That’s why we have laws and  enforcement, and that’s why we have the constitution. The constitution is not there to protect the government from the people, it is there to protect the people from government when it gets out of control. Some feel that the new current administration is out of control. I suspect it is not so much that the Trump administration is out of control of the people, because the majority appear to be supportive of what they have been doing.

Who is in Control?

It is rather that the Trump administration is out of control of the established bureaucracy. And it is exactly for that reason that the majority of Americans voted for Donald Trump. Those who voted for Trump wanted a president that was not beholden to the established bureaucracy. It is the established bureaucracy that is out of control of the people. While he may not be perfect, and will undoubtedly make mistakes. It appears that what Trump is attempting to do is to give the power back to the people. Perhaps with God’s help and protection he may yet be successful.
